Rostrum Club 18 meets each Wednesday from 6.30 to 8.45pm, in the Police Club over a two course meal costing $15. We very much enjoy having visitors who are not asked to speak (although they may participate if they wish.) Why not come and look us over and enjoy some fellowship and fun Rostrum Club 18 style over a meal?

Learn public speaking and meeting procedures in a relaxed, supportive yet professional environment
Rostrum Club 18 members are friendly and supportive. Our ages range from 22 to about 70. Our backgrounds are as varied as our interests: the Public Service, small business, teaching, the police, academe, IT, financial institutions and the Law. With our diverse experience and interests, we learn a great deal from each other as well as improving our communication. Our meetings are characterized by variety, interest and humour,
Previous members have included a film producer, Parliamentarian, senior Police Officer, an artist salespersons, and businesspeople.
Under the guidance of an experienced and trained senior member, we spend a short time dealing with business – and learning how to participate in and manage a meeting. This is followed by various speaking exercises including speeches, role play and sometimes word games. Members may ask to be rostered to give presentations or make particular types of speeches for example, a speech at a wedding by a Best Man.
Fees are very affordable- $35 per session ( six months). No previous public speaking experience is required to join.
